Holding The Rod Up

Hello Beloved,

I heard David Jeremiah say something on the radio yesterday and it just struck me.
Something to think about it.... I only heard a little of it as I was driving and caught the last part of it.  Anyway, he said ; " holding the rod up"  .  Then he talked about Exodus
17..  So I came home and read Exodus 17..  It talks about  Moses and Joshua and the children of Israel and how they were thirsty.  So Moses strikes the rock and out comes the water...  Next comes Amalek and Joshua and his soldiers and they fight..  Now , Moses, Aaron and Hur go to the top of the hill to watch the fight... Moses tells Joshua
that he will stand with the rod of God in his hand.  So, they are on the top of the hill and Moses, his arms start to tire and fall.... When this happened , Joshua and his soldiers start to lose the fight ... Aaron and Hur prop up his arms and they start winning again... So as long as Moses was holding the rod up they would win.....
Now, this is what I got from this.
When you are holding your arms up to God in praise and worship.... you are winning..
when you leave your arms down you lose.  It is like prayer... You need to pray so you can have a close relationship with God...  This is how we talk to God...   Prayer is very important not just for yourself but for others around you... Your prayer may be the one that is answered for someone... Yes, one person can make a difference..
HOLDING THE ROD UP ..  That is what prayer is to the church...   Are you helping to keep it there?
I don't know if this makes any sense to anyone but me.. I need to change the way I go about prayer and holding the rod up..   We can not let what someone else thinks of us when we are praying... It is only God who matters..  This is my lesson for today for myself......
Remember to smile it is a free gift from God for you to share with all around you.
God Bless each of you.                 Tenderly, your sister in Christ ,  vickie
